Sayings of Wisdom Award Presentation Ceremony
23 Oct , 2025
The Award Presentation Ceremony for the Sayings of Wisdom Campaign 2024/25 and Fifth Anniversary Exhibition was successfully held on 20th September 2025 to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of schools and students in various SOW territory-wide competitions and student activities organised by the English Language Education Section and the Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) Section in the 2024/25 school year. Around 400 students, teachers, principals and guests of honour were invited to the ceremony officiated by Dr Choi Yuk-lin, JP, Secretary for Education. Our student Mak Ho Yeung, Angie (class 3A) was invited to be one of the MCs, which was a great honour for her, and she truly shone in the role. She, and another of our students, Yeung Yat Long, Isaac (class 2B) received commendable awards in the Ocean Park Animal Photopoetry Competition – a wonderful achievement. Their poems and animal photographs were also displayed as part of the exhibition. We at LPSMC are immensely proud of their achievements. - Byron Wallin (NET) |
Student Reflection by Ho Yeung Mak, Angie (3A) My experience at the SOW Awards Ceremony was nothing short of extraordinary, especially as an awardee and one of the masters of ceremonies in the event. It was truly an honour to be a part of the 5th anniversary of the SOW readathon. Everyone I got to meet that day was incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere was just immaculate. I was so happy that I got to congratulate the other students who participated and who got to showcase their remarkable achievements. It was also extra special to have my parents in the audience and to take pictures together after the ceremony. Hopefully I’ll be able to join next year! |
Student Reflection by Yeung Yat Long, Isaac (2B) During the awards ceremony, I was excited, and, in my mind, I was jumping up and down like a kid craving candy. My parents and brother were there, watching me go on stage and get my certificate. I wanted to wave at them, but I still needed to remain professional! When I went back to my seat, we exchanged a few glances and we all smiled at each other. I was truly delighted to see my parents proud of me. |
