LPSMC Excels in Hong Kong Secondary Debating Competition

Our Senior and Junior English Debating Teams launched Term 2 of the Hong Kong Secondary Debating Competition with impressive victories. Both teams triumphed in their Round 1 matches, debating the motion “This House would ban those under 16 from using social media platforms.”

On March 5th, the Senior Team defeated Concordia Lutheran School, with LPSMC debater Audrey Lam earning the Best Speaker award for her outstanding performance. This marked four consecutive wins for the team, securing them a place in the 2024-25 Grand Final with one debate to spare. On March 10th, the Junior Team prevailed over Precious Blood Secondary School, and LPSMC debater Seriena Kiang was named Best Speaker for her compelling arguments and great rebuttals. Expert adjudication and feedback was provided by Dr. Tim Yung from German Swiss International School.
