LPSMC Senior English Debating Team Clinches First Term Final Victory

In the Hong Kong Secondary Schools English Debating Term 1 Final held on the 24th of January, LPSMC triumphed over Po Leung Kuk Wu Chung College on the motion “This house regrets the rise of cancel culture.” LPSMC effectively argued against the unintended consequences of cancel culture, focusing on stifling debate and jumping on bandwagons of hate. Their opponents defended cancel culture's role in social accountability. One of the many highlights of the debate was Kelanna Wan from LPSMC, who clinched her first Best Speaker Award with a compelling and near flawless speech, contributing significantly to their victory. This debate showcased critical engagement with modern social issues among students. We are extremely proud of our debaters for all their dedication and ability to consistently deliver a high standard of performance.
